Silicone rubber is a high-performance elastomer with exceptional resistance to temperature extremes. Silicone molded and die cut gaskets remain functional within a temperature range of -67°F to +400°F, intermittent to +450°F. The low temperature flexibility of silicone is unmatched by any other elastomer. Silicone gaskets are often chosen due to their excellent resistance to chemicals, water, fire, fungal growth, ozone, heat and aging. Silicone has outstanding tensile strength, elongation, tear strength, and compression set. The versatility and long service life of silicone make it ideal for a wide variety of applications.
Molded Silicone Gaskets
Himsan Polymer specializes in the manufacturing of molded silicone gaskets and seals. We commonly mold products using silicone, fluorosilicone, and FDA (food grade) silicone compounds which are available in color options red/orange, black, gray, blue, white, and translucent with custom color compounding available upon request. Silicone rubber molding compounds durometer (hardness) typically ranges from 25 to 80 durometer, Shore A. Silicone rubber molding tolerances are compliant with rubber molding industry standard RMA A2 Precision tolerances.
FDA (Food Grade) Silicone Gaskets and Seals
Himsan Polymer produces precision die cut and molded FDA (Food Grade) silicone rubber gaskets and seals. Our FDA approved silicone products are fabricated to meet all of your blueprint specifications and tolerance requirements in order to suit your particular application. All food grade silicone products we manufacture are FDA compliant and provide reliable service at temperatures ranging from -175°F to 482°F. Food Grade (FDA) silicone is odorless, tasteless, peroxide-free, and fungus resistant making it ideal in applications where food is present.
Fluorosilicone Gaskets and Seals (FVMQ)
Himsan Polymer produces precision die cut and molded fluorosilicone rubber gaskets and seals. Similar to silicone, fluorosilicone (fluorinated silicone rubber) is intended for applications where there is contact with petroleum-based chemicals. However fluorosilicone can withstand more extreme temperatures and has superior chemical resistance properties to fuels, coolants and oils than standard silicone.

Ø Platinum cure silicones will have better tensile strength and elongation properties than peroxide cure silicones.
Ø The platinum compound would require a much shorter cycle time.
Ø Compression set values of 30-40 per cent directly from the mold are common in platinum compounds, a brief post-cure cycle can usually improve this to 20-25 per cent.
Ø Platinum Cured Silicone tubing offers many benefits over traditional peroxide cured tubing.
Ø Platinum Tubing offers extremely high purity and very low leaching of bi-products. Due to the platinum catalyst curing system the crosslink density of the silicone polymer is altered which in turn offers enhanced physical properties along with ultra smooth surfaces, particularly useful in the bioprocess industry sector where reduced bacterial growth is an added benefit.
Ø Platinum addition silicone tubing contains no phthalate plasticizers associated with other types of tubing and is manufactured totally free from animal derived components.

Peroxide Cure Silicone
Ø Organic peroxides are commonly used with silicone rubber, such as 2,5 dimethyl- 2.5 di(t-butylperoxy) hexane, 2,4 dichloro-benzoyl peroxide, or dicumyl peroxide.
Ø The polymer may be methyl- or vinyl-based. Peroxide-initiated cure is classified as a "second order" reaction, and has three steps
- When the elastomer is placed in the heated mold, the peroxide thermally decomposes to form free radicals;
- These free radicals attack either a methyl or vinyl group, depending on the specific polymer and peroxide used, to form active cross-link sites.
- The active sites on the silicone polymer then combine, forming a carbon-carbon bond.
Ø peroxide cure silicones usually have better compression set properties for gaskets requiring critical long term sealing at extended temperatures

- Potential outgassing of peroxide products,in this if it not properly cured, or over long periods of time, outgassing of peroxides and ketones may occur. The major symptom of outgassing is blooming, or a fine white crystalline powder forming on the inside of the tubing.
- Silicone sheets without a post-cure will often have a sweet, distinctive odor – which may be dichlorobenzoyl peroxide.

Fluidized Bed Dryers
The Fluidized Bed Dryers are known for single stage operation and extensively used to convert solutions, suspensions, and slurries into dry powder within a few seconds without any intermediate handling. The high speed of the process and controlled temperature ensure the optimum efficiency of the process.
The Fluidized Bed Dryers or Fluid Bed Dryers (FBD) are primarily used in almost all chemical, pharmaceutical, food, dyestuff and other process industries to dry materials by fluidization with hot and / or dehumidified air, which creates a turbulence in the wet product (not totally liquid) while flowing through it.
The atmospheric air is sucked in the dryer through 5/10 micron filter by efficient dynamically balanced fan driven by an electric motor. The clean air then passes over the electric heaters / steam or radiator provided with controller. The hot air passes through the product and fluidization dries the product. Dryer is provided with dehumidifier (Chilled water system) at the inlet so as to dry the product at low temperature under fluidized condition. The blower speed is controlled by AC frequency drive so as to control the fluidization avoiding choking of the filter bag. A raking system is provided to avoid lump formation in the container to achieve uniform fluidization and uniform drying.
The drying time depends on various factors such as physical properties of material, moisture content, type of moisture (free or inherent or water of crystallization), drying temperature etc. For example, the crystalline product can be dried faster than amorphous product containing same percentage of moisture at same temperature.
- Machine and the trolley are scientifically constructed. The lifting jack is housed in the inlet lower chamber (part of the main shell). It is of Stainless Steel and is lined with neoprene grade rubber of suitable hardness for sealing with the product container.
- The lifting jack is fitted with a pneumatic lifting device, which consists of 2 numbers pneumatic cylinders along with control valves, pressure regulating device and air filter. Air pressure requirement is 4 kg/cm2.
- The expansion chamber has a guide for positioning the product container.
- The filter bag chamber is made from Stainless Steel sheets. The filter bag can be de-dusted manually or pneumatically.
- The air inside is circulated by the blower. It has an impeller with a backward curve type blade. The impeller is driven by Flame Proof or Non Flame Proof Motor.
- The dryer is Electrical/Steam Heated as desired. Heaters are of finned tubes tested to 6 kg/cm2 pressure.

What is a silicone rubber gasket?
